For us, eBusiness plays a strategic role in purchasing. Through the use of the Internet, our relations to our suppliers and partners can be even more innovative and efficient in future. For this purpose, we need competent cooperations and partnerships. We are looking for applications that offer us advantages in the following fields:

eProcurement In the eProcurement segment, we have been successfully working with the system from Onventis, a Stuttgart-based company, for the past 2 years. We administrate the purchasing volume, which currently consist of 34 suppliers (status: 07.2004) with the system. This represents around 80% of all orders for cost centre supplies and investments. We use the eProcurement system in the following material groups:

	Operating means
	Office material
	Office furniture
	Printing material
	Hand tools
	Hardware and software
	Telecommunication
	Packaging material
	Machining tools

Digital data exchange

For the past few years, we have sent some of our orders to our suppliers digitally, via the Internet. Our ordering data is partially directly imported into the ERP system of a supplier and the order confirmation is sent to us automatically.

Future plans

We will integrate additional suitable material groups and suppliers into the eProcurement system.
Furthermore we want to map all relevant and appropriate transaction processes onto our Internet procurement system, and in future communicate interactively in a network with our partners.
The entire value-added chain should become simpler and more rational for both sides.
